XAVIER REYES-JECH

Xavier Reyes-Jech is a Ceramic artist originally from the Pacific Northwest. Currently working as a winter assistant at Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass, Co. Working with many different mediums throughout his life, he eventually found clay to be something that encompassed all that he enjoyed about art-making. Working primarily as a wheel thrower, Xavier explored the relationship between form and functionality. Now, Xavier works with wet slabs that bring new life to the work, allowing the clay to dictate its form. Along with slab building, Xavier is exploring the human relationship with nature, simulating the development of natural forms around us. On Top of that, Xavier still finds time to throw on the wheel and explore new mediums.
